Northumbrian Water has struck a deal with Settld to streamline end-of-life account administration. This will make life simpler for those handling the affairs of a customer who has died. The deal, which the company claims is an industry first, also includes its Essex and Suffolk Water subsidiary and aims to enhance customer care and improve efficiency following a death.
All bereaved families need to do is to visit the Bereavement Support page which links to Settld’s service. This allows customers to tell Northumbrian Water that someone has died but also to close down any other outstanding accounts.

What does Settld do as part of the NWG deal?
Settld is a SaaS product that simplifies end-of-life admin for bereaved individuals and professionals. We automate the process of notifying and resolving over 800 banking, insurance, utility and other service provider accounts when someone dies, to turn an average 6-10 hour workload into a 15-minute task for the user. This means we get date of death balances to help with probate, working out inheritance tax and estate administration.
For service providers, we reduce cost to serve, complaints and deliver major CX improvements for bereaved customers. We’re proud of our strong 5-star reviews at Trustpilot.
