Harold Stephens links up with Settld to help ease customers’ grief
A NEW ground-breaking tie-up between Bristol-based financial advisers, Harold Stephens, and nationwide bereavement service, Settld, has been launched today.
The link-up is designed to ease some of the stress suffered by the independent financial advice firm’s bereaved customers when they lose a spouse, partner or close family member.
Launched earlier this year, Settld is a pioneering, free service which allows members of the public to notify multiple companies of a death in one go – from banks, insurance, credit card, mobile phone, subscription services and many more.
Richard Higgs, founder and director of Harold Stephens, said: “At Harold Stephens, we deal almost exclusively with clients in later life, so bereavement is a situation which arises perhaps more often than with many other financial advisers. It’s heartbreaking to hear our clients telling us they’ve lost a partner or family member.
“We are determined to do everything possible to ease the bereavement process and Settld provides the perfect, stress-free solution and comes highly recommended. We look forward to working closely with the Settld team to help our bereaved clients.”
In addition to notifying service providers, Settld’s online service also helps users close, transfer or amend their loved one’s accounts and obtain date of death balances for probate. All communication with service providers is handled by Settld and tracked on a single online dashboard which can be accessed at any time.
Vicky Wilson, co-founder and chief executive of Settld, said: “Our safe, secure and free service removes a lot of the stress caused by a bereavement. We help users get in touch with as many companies as they need to, in one go and we follow up until the cases are closed.
“Settld is the simplest way to notify private sector companies of a death. We look forward to working with Harold Stephens and to helping their clients who have been bereaved.”
The team at Harold Stephens will alert clients to Settld’s online service and both companies will signpost each other on their respective websites.
