Child Bereavement UK forges new partnership with bereavement admin service Settld
YOUNG people dealing with the death of a parent will be offered free bereavement admin assistance. This will cover personal and household accounts. The service is available thanks to a new partnership between Child Bereavement UK and nationwide bereavement service, Settld.
The new partnership is designed to ease some of the account admin angst which bereaved families experience. It’s particularly aimed at surviving parents and adult children who have to cope with a death.
Child Bereavement UK helps children, parents and families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. The charity supports children and young people up to the age of 25 who are facing bereavement, and anyone affected by the death of a child of any age.
How does Settld help?
Settld is a pioneering, free service which allows members of the public to notify multiple companies of a death in one go. This ranges from banks to insurance, credit card, mobile phone, subscription services and many more.
Ann Chalmers, CEO of Child Bereavement UK, said: “At Child Bereavement UK, we know from families we support that managing the affairs of a relative who has died can be a huge additional pressure at a very difficult time. Our partnership with Settld will help us to signpost families to this free bereavement admin service. It can help make things a little easier when they need it most.”
In addition to notifying service providers, Settld’s free online service also helps users close, transfer or amend their loved one’s accounts and obtain date of death balances for probate. All communication with service providers is handled by Settld and tracked on a single online dashboard which can be accessed at any time.
Vicky Wilson, co-founder and chief executive of Settld, said: “Our safe, secure and totally free account admin service removes a lot of the stress following a bereavement. We hope our new partnership with Child Bereavement UK means that grieving families the charity supports will not have to go through any additional unnecessary stress when someone important to them dies.”
“Settld is here to help users get in touch with as many companies as they need to, in one go and we follow up until the cases are closed.”
Both organisations will signpost users to each other’s websites.
