Tech Nation rising star award for Settld as it “changes the way families have to deal with the death of a loved one”
NATIONWIDE bereavement service Settld has been officially named as a Tech Nation rising star in the UK tech sector.
Settld’s free end-of-life admin service launched to the public in February 2021 and consistently gets five star reviews from bereaved families, for whom it simplifies account handling following a death.
Settld has been named as a North East regional winner in Tech Nation’s Rising Stars award series. Now in its fourth year, it’s the UK’s only national early-stage tech scaleup competition.
The award follows hot on the heels of a string of other accolades for Settld recently. Last month, it was selected as a Northern Star – one of the top nine most exciting startups at the Northern Tech Awards which celebrate the best technology companies in the north of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Headquartered in Sunderland, Settld was also highlighted by the judges in the inaugural Go Further Investment Index as one of six businesses which “exemplified their respective sectors”.
Settld’s co-founder Vicky Wilson was also selected to speak from the main stage at the world’s biggest tech conference, Web Summit in Lisbon, last month.
Reaction to the Tech Nation Rising Stars Award:
Vicky Wilson, CEO of Settld, said: “We are thrilled to have been chosen as a Rising Stars Regional Winner by Tech Nation. It shows that we are using technology to fix a major pain point in people’s lives and making a positive difference. Dealing with heaps of account admin when someone dies is unnecessarily stressful and time-consuming.
“At Settld, we are changing the way families deal with the death of a loved one. We make it easier for businesses to support their customers at a time of need. We started with automating account closure and transfer, but there are countless other problems in this space to solve. Our goal is to transform end-of-life administration for all.”
